At the inaugural Atlanta Digital World Summit, leaders in FinTech and entertainment had the opportunity to discuss the future of finance in Atlanta. Jon Gosier (CEO) and Joshua Harris (CFO) of FilmHedge shared their knowledge on how to stimulate creativity and cooperation in entertainment locally. FilmHedge, an influential figure in the entertainment business, has energetically backed public-private partnerships that assist in the advancement of Georgia’s film sector. Harris highlighted the significance of preserving collective efforts, pointing to the film tax credit incentive as a prototypical case of a program that has helped Georgia surpass Hollywood and New York in terms of film production. Harris voiced his strong support for retaining Georgia's reputation as a production-friendly environment. He illustrated the financial dividends generated by the motion picture industry and championed existing successful plans, emphasizing the necessity of preventing excessive examination that could risk Georgia's place in the world. Harris underscored the importance of ongoing public-private partnerships for strengthening the entertainment sector. He pleading for government assistance, especially concerning movie tax breaks, and cautioned against “political mismanagement”, emphasizing the danger posed by undue probing of successful endeavors. Gosier highlighted FilmHedge's commitment to lasting partnerships that go beyond quick profits. The company has been actively backing initiatives such as the Georgia State tax incentive, which reinforces the continuing achievement of Georgia's film industry. Gosier put the spotlight on the economic effects of movie incentives. He highlighted the role of measures such as the Georgia State tax incentive in not only drawing filmmakers but also boosting economic expansion. Through bringing in more activity to the area, these incentives create a chain reaction, producing employment and nurturing an effervescent industry ecosystem. Harris noted that FilmHedge, a business in the entertainment industry, offers evidence of disruption within an existing sector. He contended that the most innovative solutions and ideas can often be found in seemingly familiar places. Because of this, he advised players within the industry to search their daily duties for chances to improve and bring about positive changes. FilmHedge is dedicated to improving the region's film industry, driving economic growth, and creating a steady platform for collaboration between different areas. By combining technology, finance, and entertainment, FilmHedge is a key part of the growing Georgia entertainment industry, helping it become a major hub for movies. We are excited to thank the Atlanta Digital World Summit and look forward to the next summit occurring yearly. Check out the full fintech panel talk here.
